Even though I worked in radio, I'd never seen any recording studio except Vic Damon's in Kansas City. So I didn't know where to place the mixer, except in a rack. Far Left: Presto 6N disc cutter, pride of the studio. Next a bogen PA amp, the monitor amp. (actually belonged to Jim Sweeny for use in the Monkeymen).
Left rack, top to bottom: Master power supply with filament and B+ for mixer and mic preamps. Next my cutting amplifier ( the head needed 500 ohm output) designed and built by Ernie Sarazan. Below that, the talkback panel. Then the Roberts stereo 1/4 track. Below that, the patch bay I made in high school shop class.
Right Rack, a second Presto record/play amp I used for some kind of line amp, then the 10 input mixer using Compactron tubes.Two three input mixers feeding a four input mixer. next, unknown (perhaps the 6 channels of mic preamp made out of old Ampex magnetic strip amplifiers with adjustable input gain. Below that, a surplus compressor (useless because it cut off at 200 hz.
